Myocardial T1 responds to adenosine - normal values of stress T1 reactivity at 1.5T and 3T

چکیده
Background Myocardial vasodilator reserve is an important surrogate marker of normal and abnormal cardiac physiology. Pharmacological vasodilator agents such as adenosine increase myocardial blood volume, which is expected to prolong the observed T1-relaxation. We explored the novel application of stress T1-mapping by assessing the response of myocardial T1 to the administration of adenosine in healthy volunteers.

T1 at 1.5T and 3T compared with conventional T2* at 1.5T for cardiac siderosis
BACKGROUND Myocardial black blood (BB) T2* relaxometry at 1.5T provides robust, reproducible and calibrated non-invasive assessment of cardiac iron burden. In vitro data has shown that like T2*, novel native Modified Look-Locker Inversion recovery (MOLLI) T1 shortens with increasing tissue iron. The relative merits of T1 and T2* are largely unexplored. We compared the established 1.5T BB T2* te...
متن کاملMyocardial and blood T1 quantification in normal volunteers at 3T
Introduction T1 mapping is a novel quantitative method for myocardial tissue characterization. Reference values of myocardium and blood have been established at 1.5T (Messroghli, MRM, 2007). CMR at 3T is a rapidly maturing field, and T1 values generally increase with magnetic field strength, making it necessary to establish new reference values at this higher field strength. The aim of this stu...
متن کاملAdenosine Stress and Rest T1 Mapping Can Differentiate Between Ischemic, Infarcted, Remote, and Normal Myocardium Without the Need for Gadolinium Contrast Agents
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of T1 mapping at rest and during adenosine stress as a novel method for ischemia detection without the use of gadolinium contrast. BACKGROUND In chronic coronary artery disease (CAD), accurate detection of ischemia is important because targeted revascularization improves clinical outcomes. Myocardial blood volume (MBV) may be a mo...
متن کاملMyocardial T1-mapping at 3T using saturation-recovery: reference values, precision and comparison with MOLLI
BACKGROUND Myocardial T1-mapping recently emerged as a promising quantitative method for non-invasive tissue characterization in numerous cardiomyopathies. Commonly performed with an inversion-recovery (IR) magnetization preparation at 1.5T, the application at 3T has gained due to increased quantification precision. Alternatively, saturation-recovery (SR) T1-mapping has recently been introduced...
متن کاملShortened modified look-locker inversion recovery for myocardial T1 mapping in healthy volunteers: determination of reference T1 relaxation times at 3 Tesla MR according to different contrast injection methods
Background Reference preand post-contrast T1 values of myocardium have been reported at 1.5T but those values at 3T have not been fully established. Additionally, the physical properties of gadolinium contrast agents significantly affect the myocardial voxel T1 value. There have been two different contrast injection methods in the literatures. The aim of our study was to establish preand post-c...
